Intermediate Project Engineer

CENGYS is growing and requires a high-performing Intermediate Engineer with an adaptive mindset and tenacious drive to execute and lead engineering projects, where each project can be significantly unique. The Intermediate Engineer will perform various initiatives, including engineering investigations, construction oversight, and design development while developing a broad set of skills that benefit both CENGYS and the Intermediate Engineer. The goal will be for this position to be as independent as their experience and skill-set allow. In the longer-term, the intermediate engineer will provide project definition services to clients and take more responsibility in project management, leadership, and business development support.
Job Responsibilities
The job responsibilities may vary slightly depending upon the skill-set of the successful applicant, and are anticipated to include:

Prepare engineering designs for conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design.

Prepare cost estimates.

Business case analysis.
-
Perform site reviews and contract administration services.
-
Non-local travel may be required but is anticipated to be < 10% of the position.

Qualifications
The successful applicant will have:

A driven personality with the desire to produce excellent engineering designs.

A client-first attitude.
-
A degree in engineering from an accredited university; a discipline in electrical or automation engineering is preferred.

Registered, or eligible to be registered, as a P.Eng. in Manitoba with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba.

A minimum of five (5) years of experience as an engineer, including time as an EIT.

Excellent writing skills in English.

A driver’s licence.

Experience working in (from highest to lowest priority)

Conceptual and preliminary designs.

Consulting environment.

Cost estimation.
-
Automation / I&C detailed design.

Electrical distribution design.
-
Arc flash and coordination studies.

The ability to work independently.
